Hydro Tasmania and Aurora Energy Pty Ltd are pleased to announce that they have reached commercial agreement on the terms and conditions of a contract under which Hydro Tasmania will sell electricity to Aurora for supply to households and small businesses (non-contestable customers).
The agreement between the two companies has no impact on the electricity prices paid by households and small business. Electricity prices for these customers are determined through the independent regulatory process.
The term of the contract will coincide with the new regulated retail price period – which is from 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2013.
The agreement that has been reached, after detailed and productive negotiation, works for both parties and enables them both to operate as sustainable businesses.
